There's no city hall here. The island runs on a roster of volunteer organizations. Here's who they are and how to reach them.

For a place this small, Anderson Island has a remarkable number of organizations - taxing districts, nonprofits, a county advisory board, and clubs that run everything from the fire service to the art shows.
Most are volunteer-driven and always looking for hands. We've grouped them by what they do, with a link to each one. If you're new, this is the fastest way to find your people.
Governance
The island's formal voice to Pierce County - a two-way line between residents and county government on ferries, land use, public safety, and more.
The independent, levy-funded district that maintains nearly 500 acres of island parks, trails, and beaches.

Community
The property owners association covering most of the island's homes, and the owner of Lake Josephine, the golf course, and Lakeshore Restaurant. See our Riviera page for the full picture.
The public clubhouse on Yoman Road, maintained by the American Legion, where many island activities happen. The Legion hosts Wednesday bingo at the Lakeshore.
The island's boating club - power boaters, sailors, kayakers, and anglers - with social events through the year, from the Commodore's Barbeque to the lighted boat parade.

Health & Safety
The island's mostly-volunteer fire and EMS service, operating from Station 27 on Lake Josephine Blvd. For emergencies, always dial 911.

Nearly all of this runs on volunteers.
The fire auxiliary, the parks work parties, the museum docents, the art shows, the events - almost none of it happens without islanders giving their time. Most of these organizations will gladly put you to work, and it's the surest way to meet people and feel at home here.
