Small, seasonal, and worth the stop.
With the General Store closed, the island doesn't have a shop for daily needs - stock up on the mainland before you come. But there are a few genuinely good places to browse, mostly seasonal, mostly tied to the things the island does well.
A gift shop full of local treasures, a summer farm market, the golf pro shop, and the pop-up stands that appear when the weather turns nice.

Tucked into a 1920s chicken coop at the historic farm: jams, teas, candy, books new and used, pottery, glassware, antiques, jewelry, kids' toys, and a year-round Christmas Corner. A genuinely good browse, run by the Historical Society. See the Johnson Farm page for visit details.
Through the summer, the Historical Society runs a garden market at Johnson Farm with fresh produce grown in the community garden plots. A lovely Saturday stop when the season's going.
The full-service pro shop at the golf course carries clubs, balls, apparel, and the usual golf needs, with club and cart rentals. Open to the public, like the course itself. See the Golf page for hours.
Keep an eye out for roadside and seasonal stands - produce, flowers, crafts, and the occasional island maker setting up for a weekend. They come and go with the weather and the season.
