There's no hotel or motel on Anderson Island, and there isn't meant to be. Staying here means a vacation rental, a campsite, or the guest room of someone lucky enough to live here.
For a quiet few days off the grid - no traffic, no crowds, the ferry your only way on or off - it's hard to beat. Here's how to find a place to land.
Your options.
A handful of island homes and cabins are offered as short-term vacation rentals, listed on the usual booking sites. They come and go, so search current listings for Anderson Island, WA. Booking early matters in summer - there aren't many.
The Riviera Community Club maintains a campground for its members and their guests - not open to the general public. If you're staying with or visiting a Riviera member, ask them about access. See The Riviera for how membership works.
For paddlers, there's a primitive campsite at Carlson Cove on the Cascadia Marine Trail - reachable by kayak or small boat. A rare way to stay on the island under your own power. Details are on the By Boat or Kayak page.
A few things to keep in mind.
Plan around the ferry - check the schedule for your arrival and departure, and remember the last boat leaves earlier than you'd think. There's no store or gas on the island, so come stocked with food and a full tank.
And bring what you'd want for a quiet stay: most rentals are well off the beaten path, which is exactly why people love them.
