The summer Garden Market opens today at Johnson Farm, running 10am to noon. It runs weekly through the season.
The market is built around island-grown flowers and produce, with proceeds going to the Anderson Island Historical Society. Bonus stands round it out: treats from island bakers (The Food Chick) and fresh mushrooms grown here on the island.
It is a small market on a working farm, the kind of thing that happens because people show up for it. Bring cash (cards also accepted), bring a bag (or buy at tote bag from the Moontime Mushroom Co. stand), and come early if you want first pick of the flowers.
Before you go
Johnson Farm is run by the Anderson Island Historical Society. For market dates, farm hours, and event news, check the Historical Society.
